Anna Garza shared the following points regarding the high school orientation process:
- Direct all calls regarding the High School program to the number above
- International transcripts are accepted and don’t have to be official
- 2-4 weeks for transcripts to be evaluated
- If a student has a diploma from their native country, they do NOT need one from the U.S.
- NO transfers between campuses will be allowed
- If a student attended within the last year, they can return in September without attending an orientation or making a counseling appointment
- If they attended orientation but never started, they are NOT a student. They will need to start the process over again by attending an orientation
- If a student has not attended the lab for over a year, they should talk to a counselor or the lab

Orientation Setting Dates - Anna Garza
A total of 60 appointments will be available on Monday at Anaheim with 50 at Wilshire and approximately 45-50 at Cypress. Additional options for an appointment setting process, such as online registration, have been considered and will continue to be explored.
Entry of AFA cards- MIS/Scanning Implications
All data collected on the AFA card should be inputted into the student record in Banner. Eliminating data received on the AFA card has negative MIS implications as well eliminating the capability to track student progress from non-credit to credit. The following data fields are not being populated in Banner although the student has provided the information: students middle name, SSN, and date of birth.
International F-1 Visa Students
Diane Mendoze reminded staff that students with a F-1 Visa are not able to attend SCE classes. An I3 hold code is placed when a student discloses on the AFA card that they are an F1 status student. The AFA card will be revised to better accommodate disclosure of an F1 Visa status. Additionallly, a new citizenship code will be created for inputting F1 Visa status in to Banner. Staff will be notified when the process is ready for implementation.
