The SCE Acceptable Use Policy governs the use of district computing resources and emphasizes the appropriate use of PCs in our classrooms and labs. Many programs have computer activities in their course work. In many cases, students complete those assignments in a SCE computer lab. With the anticipated increase in use of our limited lab space, Business Skills/Computer Applications computer lab instructors will be closely monitoring appropriate use of SCE computers. Students who are using SCE PCs for pursuits that are without educational value in the context of the mission of the district and SCE will be asked to cease such activities and will be reminded what constitutes acceptable and appropriate use. I am confident that these same practices will be followed in other computer classrooms and labs throughout SCE.
Instructors are asked to help better serve our community of learners by reminding students about the policy. We want to assist as many students as possible and assist them in achieving their educational goals. By working together, we can create and maintain a welcoming instructional environment that serves the needs of our students.
