Over 100 SCE Students Attend "SCE Goes to College" Event

Over 100 SCE students attended the “SCE Goes to College” event last Thursday at the Wilshire Center. Several representatives from Fullerton College presented information about their programs and services to a packed crowd in the Wilshire High School Lab. Hosted by the Adult College and Career Transitions (ACCT) program, the event aimed to provide first-hand access to information and personnel to guide SCE students in making this transition from noncredit to credit.

With research showing that students need more support in transferring, ACCT worked with Fullerton College to connect the lines for many SCE students and focused on providing information on support services such as financial aid, academic support, guidance and counseling. Many students enjoyed asking one-on-one questions with the representatives after the presentations out in the Wilshire Courtyard and several won the opportunity drawing prizes! Thank you to the following for making this such a successful event for SCE students: Rolando Sanabria, Fullerton College Outreach Counselor, Mary Foster, SCE Special Projects Coordinator-ACCT and George Dooley and Juanita Giampiccolo, SCE Counselors.
