SCE’s Wilshire Players’ perform Winnie the Pooh at the 2008 SCE Reading festival and book fair.

Basic Skills faculty and staff, as well as Basic Skills Project Manager Lori Givens and Anaheim Campus Dean Dr. Greg Schulz, will host the second annual SCE Reading Festival at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Anaheim Campus. The event aims at promoting community camaraderie through literacy and will feature storytelling, games, and reading time for families. The ESL-based Wilshire Players will also perform. In addition, participants may purchase donated books at bargain prices to raise funds for student scholarships. All community members are welcome to donate books as well as attend the FREE event. Donated books can be dropped off at the registration offices or at the SCE Learning Center at each campus.
