SCE Student Success Spotlight: Jefferson Sargbah, High School Diploma Program

Jefferson Sargbah

Jefferson Sargbah was born and raised in Monrovia, Africa where he witnessed first-hand the tragedy and horror of war. Due to the war he was only able to finish the eighth grade. In March of 2007, Jefferson came to California to live with his father and fulfill his dream of finishing school. Initially he sought employment to help with expenses but found it difficult due to the fact that he did not have a high school diploma. He started in the ESL Program and then in the SCE High School Diploma Program. He graduated in June 2009 completing 185 credits with a 3.0 G.P.A. He works very hard, putting in 16-hour days, but balances his hard work with his passion – acting. Jefferson is a regular actor in the SCE Wilshire Players where he takes theater classes and then performs plays, one-acts and short stories. In the future, Jefferson Plans to attend Fullerton College and major in Theater Arts.
