Over the past four years that she has attended classes in SCE’s Disabled Student Programs, Alejandra Vargas has been a diligent and enthusiastic student who has made consistent progress. Conscientious by nature, Alejandra submits impeccable work, and cheerfully participates in class activities such as role playing, field work and small groups. She has demonstrated outstanding attendance and punctuality. Alejandra became an usher at Edwards Cinema two years ago, enabling her to contribute to both of her goals of gaining greater independence and doing her share to assist in financially supporting her family. She is now working with Project Independence with the goal of finding her own apartment to live independently. According to her instructor Craig Stephens, “Alejandra has an exceptional attitude toward school, work and other individuals, and has emerged as a role model to her peers as well as any person who has a goal of becoming a more productive member of their community. It has been a genuine pleasure to work with a student like Alejandra!”
