As part of the school-wide accreditation and annual strategic plan, SCE is proud to offer two student leadership opportunities for the 2013-2014 academic year. Selected students will serve a one-year term on either the Provost’s Cabinet, SCE’s planning group, or the Budget Committee, SCE’s fiscal decision-making committee, and will provide input and perspective from a student’s point-of-view. A great opportunity for students, those selected will gain valuable leadership experience, be eligible to earn a certificate of participation, add this position as community involvement on their resume, be mentored by school administrators, learn about school and state budgeting and planning, and make a positive impact on their school and community.
One student will be chosen to serve as a representative on the SCE Provost’s Cabinet and one student will be selected to serve as a representative on the SCE Budget Committee. Students will need to attend monthly afternoon meetings at the Anaheim Campus, gather input from students and report out at meetings, and participate in assigned committee work; students will also need to have a good command of the English language and be comfortable using technology inlcuding the computer, Internet, e-mail, and programs such as myGateway.
Students must submit their online application by the deadline of Friday, May 3, 2013. Interested students can only apply online at the following link: http://sce.edu/student_leadership.php.

Location: Fullerton Union High School (FUHS) Stadium in Fullerton (on the corner of Lemon Street and Berkeley Avenue). Please refer to the maps below for additional information regarding the ceremony location, parking, etc.
Participants: Students may participate in the 2015 SCE Graduation Ceremony if they have completed the coursework in the following academic programs: High School Diploma Program, Administrative Assistant Certificate Program, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate Program, Medical Assistant Certificate Program (completion of both Front Office and Back Office), and Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program.
Grad Check: In order to participate in the 2015 Graduation Ceremony, students MUST turn in a Graduation Check Request Form by FRIDAY, MAY 8, 2015 at 2 p.m.
Guests: All family and friends are invited to attend the ceremony for free. No tickets are required.
Cost: The only cost to participate in the SCE Graduation Ceremony is for the purchase of a cap, gown, and tassel.
Students may also have an option to purchase graduation photographs.
Cap and Gown Information: High School Diploma and Career Technical Education (CTE) Program candidates dress in commencement regalia for the graduation ceremony. Order a cap, gown and tassel online and have it delivered to your home for $28.95 (includes shipping). Gowns should be ordered March 16, 2015 - May 15, 2015. The portal will be closed after May 15, 2015 to ensure timely shipment of the caps and gowns.

Photography: Students have the option to purchase graduation photographs through Paul Switzer Photography by using the form here. This company will be available before and after the ceremony for those interested in purchasing individual portraits or family portraits. IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is a public ceremony and the NOCCCD School of Continuing Education will be taking photos for promotional purposes which may be used in, but not limited to, the following manner: brochures, class schedules, website, social media, etc. Through your attendance at this event, you may be photographed/filmed. By participating in this event, you understand that your image may be utilized by SCE for the purposes of bringing its programs to the attention of the public. If you do not want your photo taken, please avoid areas where the photographer is taking pictures, if possible, or simply inform the photographer or a staff member.
Student Orientation on Graduation Day: ARRIVE by 5 p.m.! Students will be briefed on the graduation ceremony line up and seating arrangements. Please report to the Fullerton Union High School Stadium – Lemon Street entrance – by 5 p.m. Staff members will direct you to the student gathering area. The gathering area is for students only; family and friends are invited to be seated in the stadium.

Opportunities for adults with disabilities will be promoted at the Disabled Student Programs and Services (DSPS) of the North Orange County Community College District’s School of Continuing Education (SCE) annual Transition Night, held this year at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Anaheim Campus (1830 W. Romneya Drive, Anaheim, CA 92801).
Members of the community are invited to attend this free event to learn more about the independent options for living, working and attending educational programs for adults with disabilities. Special presentations will be made on experiencing college life, SCE’s mobility (transportation program) and job preparation courses, independent living skills, protection and advocacy for adults with disabilities. A workshop will also be presented on how individuals can access services and what to do if access is denied.
SCE student ambassadors will provide tours of the campus and program classes as well as hosting a student art exhibit, career exploration tables, and a “Dress for Success Fashion Show.”
Vendors from over 60 community agencies will also share information including those with independent living and housing programs, social security, transportation agencies and education programs, including Cypress College and Fullerton College.
