About Records
Per California Administrative Code, Title V, and District policy, students can review their record at any time.  All School of Continuing Education (SCE) student records are located at the Wilshire Continuing Education Center.  In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), records may not be released to a third party without the prior written authorization of the student.

 

Transcripts

Unofficial Transcripts
Students can view and/or download an unofficial transcript through the NOCCCD myGateway portal if the student has attended SCE from the 1989 Fall Term or after.  Transcripts prior to the 1989 Fall Term can only be obtained through a request of an official transcript.

Please follow the steps below to obtain a free, unofficial transcript through myGateway:

Step 1: Go to myGateway (http://mg.nocccd.edu) and log in using your Banner ID.

Step 2: Click on the “Webstar” button located on the top right-hand side of the page.

Step 3: Click on “Student Records”.

Step 4: Click on “View Unofficial Web Transcript”.

Step 5: Select “School of Continuing Education” as the transcript level and “Web Transcript (Unofficial)” as the transcript type.

Step 6: Click “Submit”.  This will bring up the unofficial web transcript that can be printed.

 

Official Transcripts
An official transcript is the record most often requested by employers, millitary, colleges, etc. and may be requested year round.

Please read the following before filling out the Records/Transcript Request Form:

  • Normal transcript processing time is:

    • 15 business days for transcripts with attendance prior to 2001
    • 10 business days for transcripts with attendance 2001-present
  • Transcripts will be withheld for any outstanding NOCCCD debt or equipment.  This would inlcude debts at SCE, Cypress College or Fullerton College.
  • Requests filed with recently completed coursework will be delayed until approximately six weeks after the last day of the term.
  • Transcripts sent from SCE to another school are considered official.  Personal or hand-carried copies are official until the envelope is opened.  No partial transcripts will be issued.
  • In accordance with FERPA, records may not be released to a third party without the prior written authorization of the student.
  • SCE will not issue a transcript unless the student has completed work with our institution.  Previous high school courses that have been transferred into the SCE High School Diploma Program will apprear on the student’s record.  Complete transcripts from other schools must be requested and released from each institution.
  • Should the student wish to pick up the transcript from the SCE Records Office, the student must present a valid photo ID to retrieve the transcript.
  • E-mail requests for transcripts will not be accepted.

 

Enrollment/Attendance Verification
A verification of enrollment is a document that is most often provided to governement agencies, insurance companies, etc. and may be requested year round by filling out an Enrollment/Attendance Verification Form in-person at any of our three campus Registration offices, or by faxing the form to (714) 992-9599. You may also send the form via postal mail if you owe a fee for the request.

  • Normal processing time for a verification letter is 10 business days.  Rush request are not available.
  • Requests will not be processed until completion of the third (3rd) week of the current term.
  • Verification letters may include any or all of the following information:

    • Program of study
    • First date of attendance at SCE
    • Total number of attendance hours to date
    • Number of hours attended for the previous and current term, etc.
  • In accordance with FERPA, records may not be released to a third party without the prior written authorization of the student. 
  • Should the student wish to pick up the verification from the SCE Records Office, the student must present a valid photo ID to retrieve the verification letter.
  • A Career Technical Education (CTE) Guide will be provided with the Enrollment/Attendance Verification when the student has taken CTE courses.

 

Fees for Official Transcripts and Verifications of Enrollment/Attendance
Below are the fees for official transcripts and verifications of enrollment/attendance:

  • A student is allowed two (2) copies free of charge.
  • For each additional request, a $5 fee will be charged per copy. 
  • For transcripts only, rush requests are available for an additional fee of $10 per order, plus the fee for transcript (if applicable).  Rush requests are not accepted for Verifications of Enrollment/Attendance.
  • Payment must be received in full before we will begin processing your request.  If you are mailing or faxing your request and are unsure if you owe a fee, please give us a call at (714) 992-9500 for clarification.

Duplicate Certificate Request
Students can request duplicate copies of their program completion certificate by submitting a Records/Transcript Request Form and marking the box that says “Duplicate Program Certificate/Diploma".

SCE 2013 Fall Term Class Schedule Now Available

 

2013FallClassSchedCoverThe School of Continuing Education (SCE) 2013 Fall Term class schedule is now available on the SCE website at www.sce.edu/schedule.  Classes begin the week of September 9, 2013.  Following is additional information regarding the 2013 Fall Term:

 

REGISTRATION DATES FOR 2013 FALL TERM

  • Wednesday, August 14 – Medical Assistant Certificate Program Online Registration
  • Tuesday, August 20 – Career Technical Education (CTE) Online Registration
  • Wednesday, August 21 – SCE Online Registration
  • Thursday, August 22 – Walk-In Registration

Online registration will open at 7 a.m.; computers are available at the SCE registration offices at the following times: Anaheim Campus and SCE Wilshire Center at 7 a.m.   SCE Cypress Center at 7:30 a.m.

 

A clock symbol has been placed in the class schedule to indicate the CTE courses that are eligible for registration on Tuesday, August 20 at 7 a.m.


CTE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM INFORMATION WORKSHOPS
It is HIGHLY recommended that NEW students attend a CTE certificate program information workshop. The information workshop will provide students with an overview of the program, certificate and course requirements, the registration process, and the employment outlook.

All of the information workshops will be held from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the NOCCCD Anaheim Campus at 1830 W. Romneya Drive, Anaheim, CA 92801.  Be on time; latecomers will not be admitted.  (You MUST bring $2 EXACT CHANGE to use the yellow meters to purchase a one-day parking pass.)

  • Administrative Assistant: Thursday, August 15; room 505
  • Early Childhood Education: Wednesday, August 14; room 505
  • Pharmacy Technician: Tuesday, August 13; room 505
  • Medical Assistant:  Online orientation only.  See detailed steps in the SCE class schedule.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM REMINDER:  Registration for the Medical Assistant Certificate Program is prior to the main SCE registration period.  Students must complete a required orientation, provide proof of eligibility, and register online for courses.  The detailed steps are outlined in the SCE class schedule.  Contact 714.808.4915 with questions.

SCE Kids' College & Teen Program: Cure for Boredom in July, August

 

As we enter the dog days of summer, the familiar “I’m bored” starts to echo in the homes of families everywhere.  But not to worry!  SCE’s Kids’ College & Teen Program is offering dozens of late start classes and camps throughout the rest of the 2013 Summer Term.  From art to math to computers and science, public speaking, creative writing, swimming and tennis, SCE has your cure for boredom!

Start a New Career the Week of July 8: Earn a Web and Mobile Design Certificate

 

Students are encouraged to ENROLL NOW for the NEW Web and Mobile Design Certificate Program offered through the North Orange County Community College District’s School of Continuing Education (SCE).  Classes begin the week of July 8, 2013.

 

Learn to design websites for smartphones, tablets, PC’s and MAC in just 18 weeks through SCE’s Orange County Digital Media Center.  Two new classes begin each night, Monday - Friday, the week of July 8, 2013: Solid Works, Photoshop, Dreamweaver + PHP, HTML 5, Edge, InDesign, Illustrator, JavaScript, and MORE.  All classes are $125 each and run 5:45 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. at the Anaheim Campus (located at 1830 W. Romneya Drive in Anaheim).

SCE Closed for Independence Day on July 4, 2013

 

 

Happy Independence Day!  SCE Offices will be closed, and no classes will be held, on Thursday, July 4, 2013.  SCE will resume normal business hours on Friday, July 5, 2013.

 

We are greatful for the FREEDOM of education in America and are happy to serve more than 40,000 students annually.  We thank our military for all the sacrafices they have made to keep our country free.  Have a safe and relaxing July 4th Holiday!
