2010 Fall Term Class Schedule: Available Online July 26; Printed Schedules Available Week of August 2

The 2010 Fall term class schedule will be available on the SCE website at sce.edu/schedule/ by Monday, July 26, 2010. Printed schedules will be delivered to the SCE campuses and community the week of August 2, 2010.

REGISTRATION DATES FOR FALL

* Tuesday, August 24 – Career Technical Education (CTE) Online Registration

* Wednesday, August 25 – SCE Online Registration

* Thursday, August 26 – Walk-In Registration

Online registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24 for CTE registration and Wednesday, August 25 for SCE registration. Computers for online registration are available on Tuesday, August 24 and Wednesday, August 25 at the SCE registration offices at the following times:
* Anaheim Campus and SCE Wilshire Center at 7:00 a.m.

* SCE Cypress Center at 7:30 a.m.

A clock symbol has been placed in the class schedule once again to indicate the CTE courses that are eligible for registration on Tuesday, August 24 at 7:00 a.m.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WORKSHOPS/TUTORIAL
Workshops are available to provide students with tips, checklists and information for a successful online registration experience. All students are welcome to attend these free workshops, which will be held at the Anaheim Campus in room 606 at the following dates/times:

* Tuesday, August 17 @ 7:30 p.m.
* Wednesday, August 18 @ 10 a.m.

* Wednesday, August 18 @ 7:30 p.m.
* Friday, August 20 @ 10 a.m.

An online registration tutorial, and handy registration worksheet, is available at all times at sce.edu/registration.

SCE Student Success Spotlight: Mary Noble, SCE Alumna, Medical Assistant Certificate Program

Mary Noble always wanted to work in the healthcare field. She worked as an office manager in a chiropractor’s office for many years until the office closed. With the closure, she found the need to update her skills for a new job. Returning to school after 30 years, Mary enrolled in an SCE computer class and then in the Medical Assistant Certificate Program. Mary loved SCE; she was excited about learning again and more excited to learn that she was not the only older adult in the Medical Assistant Program. Mary has successfully completed her classes and is now in the externship portion of her certificate program. She looks forward to starting her new career as a medical assistant. Congratulations Mary!

Expanded Kids' College & Teen Program Offered For 2010 Summer Term

NOCCCD School Of Continuing Education Is Now Registering Students For The Kids’ College And Teen Program At All Three Campuses

The North Orange County Community College District’s (NOCCCD) School of Continuing Education (SCE) is currently registering students for the Kids’ College and Teen Program (KC&TP) classes’ at all three North Orange County campuses in Anaheim, Cypress, and Fullerton. Some classes begin the week of June 21, 2010. Start dates vary throughout the summer term; see individual courses for specific start dates.

KC&TP is offering classes and camps for kids and teens - ages 6 months - 17 years. From art and music to reading and math to basketball and swimming, SCE’s Kids’ College & Teen Program has it all! Academic Camps

The KC&TP also offers camps to prepare students for the next academic year. Students can review academic subjects or prepare for the upcoming school year. Subjects include reading, writing, math, and science review by grade level (up to Grade 4). For children who need a refresher on grade-level subjects - these are the camps for them! Camps last one week long and are offered multiple times throughout the summer.
