You may have noticed some changes to the looks of a student’s Electronic Class Record. Some new updates have been applied that will make it easier to manage a student’s grades when they are in more than one course per subject.
Notice in the screen shot below that to 2 Eng I courses are grouped together, as are the 2 Eng III courses. The grouping will happen automatically whenever you add a new course, based on the other “Active” courses a student is setup for. Also, a running total for all the courses in a subject will appear at the bottom of each subject section.

Since the courses are now grouped, the system know how to wait until the student is done with all the courses in a subject, and then the instructor can submit one final overall grade for the subject. You can see above how Eng I is complete, the green bars show that those courses are now in “the queue". Eng III has one course that is complete (Holt Handbook 1A), but another course (Plato English II) where the tests have all been taken, but the score is too low*, so it has a red bar.
Holt Handbook 1A is “pending", it has a yellow bar because the course is done with an acceptable score, but there are other courses in the same subject that are not complete. In this case, the low score in Plato.
Grade Policy
The official grade policy is now enforced in ECR. The policy be applied to any scores entered from this point forward, any existing scores will not be changed.
The policy is that a student may retake a test once without an instructor’s permission, and once more with an instructor’s permission.
The policy is enforced in the ECR by using the following rules;
Deleting Scores
Since there can only be a maximum of 3 scores on one test in the ECR, you need to be able to delete any grades entered by mistake. To delete an existing grade you will need to click on the test’s score on the student’s main Class Record page. In this example I am choosing the 5th test in U.S. History.

Then click on the “delete” link of the test you want to delete.

Then click the “Delete” button on the confirmation page.

If it has been less than 24 hours since the grade was originally entered the record of the grade will be totally removed from the ECR system. If it has been more than 24 hours we will keep a record of the deleted grade, but it no longer affect the grading policies’ total limit.
There is a new ECR feature on the ECR homepage. On the right side of the page there is a list of all the students that are currently clocked into the lab. You can click on their name to open up their ECR. This will be helpful in starting a new ECR for a brand new student.
Currently the list is in alphabetical order, with the student’s clock in time in the 3rd field. This list is for your iTendance acocunt’s “default site". If for some reason you need to switch to a different site click on the “Change Site” like on the left side of the ECR homepage.
